‘He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.’ (Psalms 23:3-4, NKJV)
Have you ever noticed the extra steps you take when helping someone? Have you ever felt the satisfaction of knowing you helped?
My kids had leg surgeries on the same day. Our daughter had a large calcium deposit on her knee that needed to be removed. Our son had one leg longer than the other, so they broke his leg and inserted a metal rod that was used to lengthen the short bone. Both were on crutches and needed help getting around, especially our son.
My husband and I took extra steps to clear paths and help both kids with their needs. Our daughter healed quickly, but our son was stuck on the couch for a month before being allowed to move for more than bathroom breaks.
It was worth our effort to ensure that both kids received proper care and had a clear path through the house. They would have struggled more without those extra steps on our part, perhaps hurting themselves.
Can you imagine the extra steps Jesus takes to guide us through life so we can safely land in His house? He clears a path and offers His hand to get us over the rough spots.
Take time now to thank Him for the extra steps He takes to guide you in life.
